What is PRP?
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is simply an ultracentrifuged fraction of a patient’s blood, which is then injected into an area of inflammation. It consists of platelets, which are rich in growth factor, and white blood cells (stem cells), suspended in a small volume of plasma.
What is it for?
PRP is useful for treating chronic repetitive motion or overuse injuries, such as tennis elbow, Achilles tendonitis, and plantar fascial strain. It is also a treatment option for a variety of other conditions that are the result of chronic inflammation.
Does it work?
While results may vary, published studies report 87% effectiveness in resolving these chronically painful, inflammatory conditions. Call and make an appointment to see if PRP can benefit you. |
